Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday dear birthday boy,
Happy birthday to you...
Bulging eyes abound about
The birthday boy today;
Screaming, "Creaming eyes!"
Screamed he,
His mother looked away.
"Creaming eyes explode upon
An apple pirate toad
And if an injun ate a plate
I'd laugh and live abode."
Nervousness itself was shifting
Guests against the door,
"Forgive us dear, but, uh, baking beer
Is what we should be near."
"Bye," the bothered birthday boy said,
"Bye," the bothered birthday boy said,
"Bye or sell or bye,
Bye or sell or bye."
"Happy, happy birthday to me,
Happy birthday to me,
Happy birthday to me, hee hee..."

I had slept for about three hours, when I awoke to a new day. The clock was about 3.30 a.m. and I hurried and got dressed. I had been looking forward to this day for a long time, believe you me. Now I was leaving for Italy, with my best friend Kikkis and her parents.
We arrived in the Leonardo Da Vinci airport about 4 p.m. We only had to get the rental car, and then we were on our way to Terracina. The drive was about one hour long, and Kikkis and I were struggling to find a good position in the car suitable for sleeping, not easy... But then finally we got there! It was gorgeous, an old city with amazing buildings. In addition to that the apartment couldn't be better. It had this very nice balcony that used to be a bridge over to the Catholic Church, there we sat every night and talked about everything in between heaven and earth.
We spent our first day on the beach, just walking along the beach shore, and enjoying everything. Of course we met a freaky man there. He started talking to us, he was way much older than us, and kind of creepy. Especially when he insisted that we had to come with him to his big studio and sing with him. We said no like a hundred times, but he would not give up. Then he tried to get us to go with him and a friend on his boat. Then we just made up a terrible excuse to get away from him and it wasn't easy not to run away from him that is how gross he was.
One thing that was very very different from home was the people. They had no boundaries, when it came to starring for example. I know we looked different, but god. The boys starred, and the girls gave us mean looks. Some of them had at least the courtesy to say chiao, it made it a little less obvious for some reason, and a little less uncomfortable. Of course we liked some of the attention though, I mean, it is not every day you get to turn heads when you walk in the streets. It was kind of fun, kikkis and I agreed.
We also spent two days in Rome. That was the best part. Rome is gorgeous. I have been there two times before, but this time it was much more magical. The people, the places we went to. Like the pantheon, and the churches with Michelangelo?s paintings on it. I am not a Christian, but when I step into places like that I feel so religious just because of its beauty. It is truly amazing.
Just to say one bad thing about the trip though: Of course karma had to do one thing on my holiday to though. It had been bothering me for some time now, and this time it took my suitcase before I even got to Rome. And the worst part of it was that I didn?t get it back until I arrived at the airport to go back home again. We had been talking to Alitalia (the airplane company) every single day, and they told us the same thing every time. It will be there tomorrow morning. That did not happen, but I didn?t want anything to make this relaxing week horrible, so I ignored it. I borrowed clothes from Kikkis and bought myself a nice dress, and with that I survived. Funny that actually, it is true what people say about women?s purses. They are really prepared for anything.
When we were leaving it was so sad, none of us wanted to. It was too much fun, and just to be there in 20 degrees and think: it is actually October. Luckily I did all the things I had planned to do. Eat spaghetti, Panini, pizza, real Italian home-made ice cream (something everybody should do before they die), buy some bracelets, swim and see some lizards. So I return to Norway satisfied. It was over so fast we all almost thought it was only a dream. It was as when we stepped outside into the cold in Bergen that we awoke from it, and returned to reality.
